When Flora moved to her new home, she had very little in the way of possessions and finances, but being an outdoorsy kind of girl, she didn’t mind sleeping outside.

G1 - Snoozing under the stars
As she progressed in her career, she was able to afford a one-room house.

G1 – Be it ever so humble…
After the wedding, Flora and Abe were able to make the little structure into more of a home.

G1 – Yes, the double bed is outside, but it's romantic to sleep under the stars!
After the twins were born, they needed their own space, and the house was expanded a little more.

G1 - A modest little cottage for four.
And when the girls reached their teen years, Abe knew that the house needed another bathroom if he were ever going to get a chance to shave!

G1 – Green, the favorite color of both Flora and Abe, predominates, but the girls' room reflects their favorites.
Just before Fern and Dahlia became young adults, Flora and Abe made some more improvements to the house, making a separate kitchen, dining room, and living room from what had been a modest great room. They fenced an area off the kitchen to be the new garden and added a rear patio for parties. Finally, they redid the facade.

When Flora earned her handiness certificate, the result of many repairs and upgrades over her lifetime, the local building association told her that she would receive a materials and labor discount. So the family decided to add a second story, although most of the upstairs rooms would not be finished just yet.

After Rose and Cedrick’s wedding, Dahlia added on to the house, remodeled a couple of rooms, and put in a pool and some landscaping. She wanted to do everything she could to pass on a wonderful home to her daughter.

What a nice house! You really have building skills
Thank you! I really enjoy the building aspect. That’s one thing I miss about TS2: the abundance of empty lots to play with.
I love how your house developed!
I just started reading your legacy and so far, I really like it. Can’t wait to read more!
Thank you! Legacies tend to make for unusual houses. I like building, but this gradual approach has been a challenge for me.
I just started reading your legacy a few hours ago (& I am a Mac user as well). I love your approach to writing your legacy stories, it’s full of lots of uniqueness! And I’m loving the building of the house! I’m on the second generation of my legacy and have decided to keep my family living in a moderate little shack on the corner of the property & wait til they have a little more cashola to build them a nice place, maybe at the end of generation 2. I love building massive houses with unlimited funding …. so need to wait …. and wait …. and wait til theres some funds to build the house of my dreams!!
Yay Mac users!
I love building, but the gradual remodeling thing is not the easiest thing in the world. Of course, it is much easier in TS3 now that we can just drag walls and most of the furniture will even follow along. If you do decide to post some pictures or upload the lot from your legacy, let me know. I’d love to see it!
