Flora fidgeted with the pages in the legal folder in her lap as the cab passed a sign saying “Legacy Valley City Limits.” Her green eyes scanned everything they passed – city hall, the gym, a beautiful park, a 50s-style diner, and was that the ocean she just caught a glimpse of?
As the taxi turned and started up a hill, the cabbie said, “Almost there, Miss.” Flora closed her eyes, thought of her mother and father and the plot of land they had bought when she was born. “They never got to establish their dream home there, but now that I’m of age, I’m going to carry out their dream, because it’s my dream, too!”
The cab stopped at the top of the hill, and Flora got out. On either side of her were mansions, and behind her was a charming park, but she only had eyes for the enormous expanse of green in front of her. What a view! And it was hers!
She paid the taxi driver and then got to work. It was Sunday afternoon, and she spent most of the rest of the day putting together her bed that she bought in a kit from Simkea. She also had a solar-powered fridge that would do for a while, and she had brought a cookbook and a book on gardening. Tomorrow she would see about finding a job, making friends, and starting her garden, but this evening was hers to enjoy the view.
Hehe @ the solar powered fridge.
Yay! Somebody caught that. 🙂
I like the Simkea part.. I’m so excited to finally get to starting to read your legacy!
