The Foliage household pulsed with giggles, clumsy toy xylophone music, wails of sleepytime, and the pitter patter of tiny feet. There were three toddlers in the household, and even though they weren’t, the adults felt outnumbered.
Maebe was happier than ever to see Reed come home from work, not just for the breathtaking “I’m home” kiss, but also for the chance to get out of the house for a little bit. One night she had a dinner meeting with a potential campaign contributor at the Bistro; evening meetings allowed her to be mommy at home during the day.
Nights weren’t so easy for Iris, who often woke up to Camellia’s cries for attention or a bottle or a clean diaper.
Of course, Iris loved her daughter, but she did wonder why Rogelio rarely seemed to be nearby when Camellia needed something.
Some days Maebe felt like her children kept her young, but other days she really felt her age. One of those days was her birthday, but Reed insisted on throwing his wife a big party – she was forever young to him.
Maebe made a point of telling Reed later that he was the sunshine of her life. He replied that he would always be happy to keep her warm.
But just as another candle on the cake and a few gray hairs didn’t make Maebe any less a loving wife, they also didn’t make her any less a mom of two toddlers, and she was determined that they should learn everything their young minds could.
The whole family pitched in to take care of the three youngest Foliage girls, and even Iris, who could be neurotic about making sure things were just as they should be, didn’t mind the picture books and toys scattered all over the floor.
One at a time, the adults did manage to get out and about. Reed went to check on how the family’s businesses were doing…
… Maebe ran into Lily while playing her guitar after work…
… and Rogelio hoofed it up the hills and around the trees…
… while Iris exercised her mind at the library, until she ran into Blossom and ended up exercising her jaw while catching up on the latest news, including hearing all about Declan, Blossom’s new boyfriend. Blossom wanted to know all about how things were going with Rogelio. Iris left out a few details.
Even when Reed, Iris, and the others were out in the evenings, they always coordinated their schedules to make sure that someone was always home, especially to tuck the little ones in at bedtime.
They also had to plan carefully to make sure that the family garden didn’t go untended too long.
As Reed lifted Zoysia high into the air, he realized how quickly his girls were growing, now that their birthday was drawing near. He and Maebe busied themselves planning a party to celebrate their birthday as well as Rogelio’s, since they fell so close together.
While Camellia was a little bit younger, Iris wanted to make sure she made good progress with her own skills. While teaching her to talk, she told her a story about the day she found a geode on a nearby hill and how it turned out to be an emerald.
She realized later, at the party, that maybe she shouldn’t have let Camellia skip her afternoon nap that day.
Eventually the candles did get blown out, and Reed and Maebe were amazed at how their girls were growing up. They helped them pick out clothes before their first day of school, and they spent the weekend redecorating the girls’ new rooms using their favorite colors.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Violet took to her easim bake oven right away, and Zoysia hopped on her new computer to thank her Aunt Lily for the gift.
The girls were beginning to express their personalities, and Reed and Maebe were eager to see what the future would bring.

Lovely to see Blossom and Lily again! I hope Rogelio and Iris sort things out. The kids are growing up lovely – as always. Abe’s hair still lives on, I see!
Yes, I’m glad that Abe’s hair doesn’t give up easily!:-)
What a busy and cheerful household! It’s wonderful to see the Foliages thriving. I’m sure that everyone is a little relieved that Zoysia and Violet are children now. 🙂
That Rogelio–it sounds like there might be a bit of strife brewing there…. I hope things get better for Iris!
Busy doesn’t even begin to describe it! lol Yes, we’re all relieved. Now we have to see about Camellia…
Well, come what may, Iris has the support of her brother to see her through. Of course, we hope it doesn’t come to that.
The girls look cute. Zoysia’s a computer Whiz then? And Violet’s gonna be a chef?
I love that picture with everyone thinking of the screaming child.
Zoysia is actually a genius, which also seems to pull kids toward computers. Her social was low right then, too, oddly enough.
Violet’s future is yet to be decided… I think she is going to be a most interesting sim.
Yeah, it makes a great picture, but it was rather frustrating when it happened. No one would move so someone could put the screaming child to bed, so she kept screaming, and they all stood there being irritated. Not one of the Foliages’ shining happy moments.
Hooray for Bloosom finding love! 🙂
The twins looks almost identical, and they’re dressed all Foliage-y. Too cute, DB. Lol @ the ruined birthday cake photo opportunity.
I forgot that Maebe was older than Reed, she makes a distinguished looking elder. And then there’s Rogelio…he best snap out of it.
Their faces are quite similar, but their hair and eye colors are different. They seem to have survived their birthday cake mayhem okay. 🙂
That hairdo does work well for a mature lady, doesn’t it? It’s still weird to see her older, though. She always seemed to have an elegant posture somehow before the forced elder slouch.
Lovely chapter! What a happy family! It makes such a difference when there is not one evil person around. (I’m thinking of how different it was with Daisy around – at least these kiddies get to keep the candy).
LOL at the birthday picture!
Does Rogelio dislike children?
It was nice to see Blossom again. I’m glad she found a boyfriend! 🙂
It is an altogether different dynamic around the house now, and I’m still getting used to it (in the little time I’ve had to play lately).
Rogelio doesn’t dislike children. In fact, he is childish. Maybe he hasn’t learned to share his spotlight moments yet?
Yeah, I’m hoping the newspaper will have a story about Blossom getting married and/or having a baby soon!
Lovely update on the family, I wonder what paths the girls will pursue! Bobo knew what was coming next in that one bedroom shot, poor fish.
Glad you enjoyed it! I have some plans for the girls, but they depend on what traits the girls roll as teens. I have high hopes for one of them in particular to have the opportunity to choose a certain LTW.
Yes, indeed, poor Bobo was looking for his blindfold.
